STEM Day showcases degree programs, career opportunities for high school students

NATCHITOCHES – Sara Kimble of Moreauville, a senior majoring in applied biology, demonstrated a chemical reaction during STEM Day at Northwestern State University Friday, March 1.  Nearly 300 ninth-12th grade students from 14 area schools attended STEM Day where they toured science labs and met with faculty and current NSU students who discussed research projects and career opportunities. The event was hosted by NSU’s School of STEM to showcase degree programs in the areas of biomedical/microbiology, natural science and ecology, veterinary science, chemistry and physics and mathematics and engineering.  Information on NSU’s School of STEM is available at https://www.nsula.edu/stem/.
